About Me

I am Jack Draper, a student currently studying my Bachelors of Computer Science at the University of Southampton. Aswell as this I am very involved in the University of Southampton Video Games and Esports Society (SVGE) as the Livestreaming Officer and Counter Strike Competitions Officer. As well as this I've been the Tournaments Organiser and Production Manager for inter-university tournament SouthLANder between 9 southern Universities.

Summer Work Experience at Rutherford Appleton Laboratories (RAL)

Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) 07/2017 - 08/2017

Skills: Teamwork, Python, Pycharm, Object Oriented Programming, Git, Javascript, HTML Two-week work experience
in a scientific research environment for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) in an instrument control team to develop an emulator for a signal generator, and web dashboard to monitor the instrument status and build progress for the team by developing skills in new programming languages and bootstrap.

Tournaments Officer & Production Manager

SouthLANder 2019 - present

Thanks to my great work with SVGE I was brought on to create and organise a large inter-University esports tournament between 9 large southern universities. My two roles included running the majority if the tournament, including organising the teams and sourcing servers for the games, media production for the event, and general administrator tasks. This tournament was sponsored by an extremely large University Esports tournament (The NUEL), as well as support from FNATIC Esports who we worked with and seemed very impressed by my production efforts.

As an extra-curricular challenge I decided to become 2 committee position roles for the largest voluntarily joined society in the University of Southampton. In my roles I have completed many tasks such as organising over 10 teams, organising regular livestreams, creating artwork and apparel and organising events for over 500 people to enjoy. As well as this I have voluntarily created programs and parts of the SVGE website.
